This Takes The Cake!

We recently tasted bundt cakes from “We Take the Cake“. If you are under the impression that a gourmet bakery quality cake can not be delivered by mail – these cakes will change your thinking! Food411’s mission is to find the highest quality food resources that are available on the internet for our online directory, these cakes are a shining example of this mission. We sampled the key lime, pumpkin/lemon/ginger and the orange crunch. MOIST, screams high quality ingredients. Lori, the owner, says they baked everything from scratch. What also impressed us was the care that goes into the packaging. These cakes would make a terrific gift. They are packaged in a signature hat box beautifully designed to insure freshness and make a design statement.
Need a hostess gift for New Years Eve – this would be ideal.
Does this cake have the icing on it when it is delivered? I want to send this to a friend but they don’t like sweet stuff….
I love plain bundt cakes, so I would also be curious to know about the frosting. Thanks. If they really are moist, I ‘ll be a regular customer!
To answer both of the readers above:
the frosting that comes with the cakes is in a seperate container. We found the frosting to be delicious, not sweet at all. The pumpkin has a cream cheese frosting which adds a wonderful flavor to the cake.
The key lime stands very well alone, however the icing was yummy.
I tried the key lime, what a delight. Delicous moist rich cake with generous key lime flavor. Thanks for this tip.

– You do an excellent job of finding great products. This key lime cake is very moist and loaded with key lime flavor–we loved it.
The cakes are good but I do not care for the company itself. The customer service department is rude and unfriendly. Even though I enjoyed the cake, I would not use them again based purely on that.
I found the customer service department delightful to deal with! I had some questions which they were most happy to assist me with, and the cake!!!! Well, we just tucked it away in the fridge, out of sight, and without telling anyone, each night we took it out, cut 2 pieces of the key lime, and just enjoyed!
Now if my friends don’t find out———-
